Editorial Chrissie part one

“To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.”

- Osho -

These are just a few images that I took of Chrissie and her boyfriend. I wanted to do something creative, something different, something to challenge me. Being a creative person means you need to push yourself all the time. There is nothing better than making people look twice, or think about an image. These images make me think, embrace life, be bold and go on adventures. Soon more images of this pure inspiring collaboration.

Elopement South Africa

Just two weeks ago we traveled trough South Africa. We had a little secret for months now, because our dear friends asked us to be their witnesses for there elopement in Cape Town. I have never captured an elopement and because they are friends it made me even more curious and excited.

The location and light where beyond beautiful and it was so special to be part of this intimate day. Lars and I enjoyed every minute of it and I actually thing that an elopement is one of those extraordinary moments in life. As a photographer I'm such a big fan of elopements, it's super intimate, unique and dreamy. Yes, soon the complete wedding of Rudolf and Leontien.

For photographers 'be a bit bold'

Be bold! As a photographer I always search for ways to push myself. I'm a traveler and adventurer, I always try to do a photoshoot in every country I visit. It just gives me wings to shoot at new stunning locations and meet other creatives. For example I shot a wedding in Australia, multiple in South Africa, did a shoot in Cuba and because of that I booked my own european weddings. I never charge couples that I capture when I travel, it should be fun and a learning proces. To push yourself and meet new people. It is one of the most rewarding things ever! I'm super honored to be able to travel and have already seen so much of the world. If you are traveling ask different photographers in that country if you could help them out at a wedding or couple shoot. It is so worth your search and it helps you to create an even better portfolio. Clients need to see that you're willing to travel and go that extra mile. Share your travel images on your blog and talk about what you love.

'My passion is telling stories trough images and exploring the most beautiful places of the world. When I'm able to combine those two I'm in heaven!'

Personal note ' to travel is to live '

Hello! During my holiday in South Africa I had so much time on my hands that I started thinking. Traveling gives me inspiration and new ideas. The hard part is converting those ideas into action. So this is part one, writing about my life and what inspires me as a photographer and entrepreneur. I'm in a small cafe writing this and always love working outside of my cosy home office. Maybe it's because of the smell of fresh coffee, the city buzz and people around me. But let's cut to the chase, for this first post I just want to tell you a bit about me. My name is Amanda and I'm thirty years old, I live with my husband in Ede, The Netherlands. We love to explore and see different parts of the world. Meeting new people and making friends. Our apartment is cosy and completely white, with lots of plants. I love green, I definitely want my own greenhouse! We got married in 2013 and are still madly in love, I secretly think more than ever. One day I hope to have a cute dog named 'Beer'. I enjoy being an entrepreneur because it gives me freedom and let's me be who I truly am. My favorite movie is Notting Hill, has been for years. When I'm in a city I alway's feel alive, my friends mean the world to me and without them I think I would feel extremely lonely. I'm in a happy place when I'm at a little market or cute coffee shop. Here comes the big news....

We are at an exciting time of our lifes because we are having a little baby. It's all so extremely beautiful and at the same time quite scary. I'm a huge wanderer, I can't imagine my life without traveling and meeting new people. Getting excited when you find a cool coffee spot in a different country, standing on a cliff with an extremely beautiful view, or the smell of herbs at a local market. I know this part won't be over when we have a little one, but still. It's exciting but also a bit scary. A hole new adventure ahead of us! I'm looking forward to see this little baby boy, because he is already so active. We are debating about a fun name, so if you have any suggestions.. let us know! Next week I will post some of our favorite travel pics. Can't wait to see them, my film rolls are now safely at Carmencita Film Lab headquarters. Oh patience...the hardes part of shooting film.

Xx! Amanda

Editorial boudoir fotoshoot | publicatie Wedding Sparrow

Italian inspiration shoot featured on Style Me Pretty

Thankful for the amazing feature on Style Me Pretty, one of the biggest bridal inspiration blogs.

Italy is such an inspirational country and we just adore i's beauty! That's why this shoot is very close to our hearts, filled with Italian and rustic details. As we live in The Netherlands the weather is always unpredictable and we do have a lot of rain, therefore we choose an indoor location. It's a fairy tail, a dreamy and stunning old greenhouse, with a raspberries backdrop. It hasn't been used for years and fitted our style perfectly with amazing light and creamy floors. To give this inspirational shoot a real Italian feel, we asked model Marissa, as she is a 100% italian girl. This shoot is all about rustic italian styling, mediterranean feel and romance. The gorgeous elegant and simple bridal dress from Rembo styling combined with the perfect hair and make-up gave Marissa a natural refined look. The table styling with olive branches, a perfect naked cake, wine, citron, candles, stationary and oil, made us literally want to site down and enjoy a glass of red wine and take us away to Italy for a couple of hours. We had some stunning bridal accessories from Sibo Design, long laces to perfection. You can create something styled and beautiful for your wedding at any location and give your friends and family a true and heart warming experience.
